Balloons over OGB
Wednesday, February 29th 2012

Our office and plant are located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, home of the International Balloon Fiesta, the largest annual gathering of balloonists in the world. In fact we're less than 1 mile south of the field where hundreds of hot air balloons are launched each morning for 10 days during the October fiesta. Normal wind patterns at that time of year frequently steer the balloons directly over our office and plant, making for an incredible sight as they slowly drift just overhead painting the sky with brilliant colors and shapes.

And, yes, they can come down in unexpected places, like on top of the building across our parking lot. Our veteran balloon employees, led by Harold Rushton, quickly went next door and assisted the balloon safely to the ground with ropes. Lot's of millwork companies have employees trained in CPR, use of fire fighting equipment and so on, but how many have a balloon rescue team?....just OGB.

If you would like to read more about the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta or just view some great photos please visit www.balloonfiesta.com. And, if you ever make the Fiesta, stop by and visit us....we're only a short balloon ride away!
